Green County Genealogy Society Meeting
April 6 @ 10:00 AM
The Green County Genealogical Society will hold its April 6 meeting at 10 a.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church located at 2707 5th Street.
Craig Pfannkuche will present “Analyzing 19th Century Photographs for Family History Data.”
Some of us are lucky enough to possess old photographs of our ancestors. Many times, these photographs do not have any identifying names on them. This presentation will focus on how a family history researcher might be able to identify such individuals. Additionally, suggestions will be made as to how “unnamed “photographs, even if they can not be identified, can be used to add interesting material to one’s history.
Craig Pfannkuche has been President of Memory Trail Research, Inc. since 1993, and is the Genealogical Archivist for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad Historical Society since 1984. He is on the Board of Directors of the McHenry County, Illinois Genealogical Society & the Chicago Genealogical Society. He has presented numerous workshops in history, historical & genealogical research & archaeological techniques at both the local and national level.
For any questions about the meeting or presentation, call Donna at 608-921-1537. The GCGS Research Center (located in the lower level of the Monroe Public Library) is closed to the public for research. The center is undergoing renovations and will reopen in April.
