Albany Hooked on Fishing

Lake Winnetka Sugar River Improvement Association presents: LET’S GET HOOKED ON FISHING! The upcoming FREE fishing event (no license needed on this day) is at Albany American Legion Park, 300 N Water St, on Saturday June 1st. So pick your favorite spot on the Sugar River and have fun getting “hooked on fishing”!
Registration will begin at 9:00am until 11:00am at the Albany Legion and is open to all those in 4K to 12th grade! There will be a ton of prizes for every category during the fishing event! Fishing poles and loaded tackle boxes are available for loan.
In addition to the fishing activities, there will be a variety of other attractions and offerings throughout the day. Come win a treat at the Hooked on Fishing game, or learn to cast your fishing pole at the ball diamond!
Boss Meats has graciously donated beef hot dogs and buns for the event, with combo meals available for purchase at $5 each. A partnership with the Albany Chamber has led to the incorporation of the first Sugar River Duck Race at 3:00pm, providing participants with a chance to win $250 by purchasing a duck ticket for $10. They will also will be sponsoring Albany’s Food Truck event.
