The Sugar River State Trail was one of the first rails-to-trails conversions in Wisconsin. The scenic trail wends its way 23 miles (39 kilometers) through picturesque countryside.  Four Green County communities are linked by the trail: Brodhead, Albany, Monticello, and New Glarus. A trail pass is necessary for biking and can be purchased at Trail Headquarters located in the historic train depot in New Glarus or a variety of locations in Brodhead, Albany, and Monticello. Bike rentals are also available at the depot in New Glarus.
