The Cheese Country Trail is a unique multi-purpose trail meandering 47 miles (80 kilometers) from Monroe through neighboring Lafayette County and on to historic Mineral Point in Iowa County. All-terrain vehicles (ATVs), off-road dirt bikes, mopeds, motorcycles, horses and horse-drawn conveyances, bicycles, and hikers share this multi-use trail. Because of the trail's varied uses, mountain bikes or wide-tired bikes are recommended for safety. Users areurged to be cautious and courteous of the many trail-users traveling at different speeds along this scenic, back road view of southern Wisconsin.
